HEY, KANSAS CITY,

Come visit PineWoodDerbyWorkshop on the Bus at University of Scouting
Saturday, 5 NOVEMBER
at the Metropolitan Community College
Business and Technology Campus
1775 Universal Ave

We'll be parked out in plain sight so you can come aboard and check out the operation we've been polishing over the past twenty years . . . really . . . it started in my garage when I was teaching high school in a Dallas suburb.

Come on out to the PineWoodDerbyWorkshop on the Bus.  It's a car-building experience such as you have never experience before.  You'll be telling your friends about it and laughing with your kids about if for a long time  . . .

We will get you through the whole derby-car-building process in three stress-free hours -- from opening the box (there's even a "best way" to do that - from opening the box a special way to rehearsing your properly modest victory speech.  We don't yet have room for choreographing victory dances . . .

Big Sally the Shop Bus is fitted out perfectly for building PineWood Derby cars. There are bandsaws, disk-belt sanders, patterns, paint, weights, and decals. Heck, even if "somebody" dropped the wheels behind the sofa, or the dog gnawed the pine block, we even have Offical BSA kits for sale.

Your reservation will set you on the path to a really positive experience getting you and your fellow crewmember smoothly from "What am I supposed to do with this?" to "Well (Dad/Mom) helped a little, but I built this really cool racecar!"

We've been helping families build their cars for the last twenty years in the Dallas, Texas, Circle 10 Council. Now Uncle Pat has retired from teaching High School and moved the Shop onto Big Sally.     And Big Sally's wheels roll and roll.  We can come to a central location in Kansas City; we can even come right to your Unit's meeting place.

Lots of happy kids (and parents) come out of this shop and do very well, indeed, thank you. We won't guarantee a win, but we can guarantee a competitive car that will be a family treasure for years to come.

START A PACK TRADITION . . . FIND A GOOD WEEKNIGHT, AND RESERVE THE WHOLE BUS FOR YOUR DEN. TALK ABOUT LETTING THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! OR GO FOR THE WHOLE BANANA SPLIT . . . RESERVE THE SHOP BUS FOR AN ENTIRE SATURDAY OR SUNDAY . . . BRING THE COOLERS AND THE HOT DOGS AND THE SODAS . . . ROCK IT ALL THE WAY TO THE CHECKERED FLAG . . .

First things first . . . come to the University of Scouting and come aboard to see what it's all about.  We'll talk schedules and fees and fun stuff.  Not too much of the "ships and sails and sealing wax and cabbages and kings," but lubrication, weight distribution, paint finish . . . you know . . . "real stuff."
