“My son came to your workshop on Jan 7 and built his car with a little assistance (especially around the band saw). Today, not only did he have a great time at the pinewood derby, but his car won the championship—and his den won the pack trophy for fastest den time. (In watching pinewood derbies for 7 years, it has mostly been my theory that good engineering does not consistently win races. Adam’s wheels were not “aligned”, he did not polish the axles and sand the wheels. In fact, one wheel is in a little too tight and drags against the body of the car.) I have no idea how he won the race—we did not even apply the lubricant on a daily basis as you recommended. Because his car performed well, he would have been happy today even without a trophy. He was very proud of building the car. You might remember Adam because he doesn’t speak very clearly and he can’t run very fast. But today, he flew… Priceless. Thanks a bunch. I just wanted to thank you again for the use of your shop. Most importantly, I want to to thank you for your time and patience in teaching the boys the right way to use your equipment. Just wanted to let you know that my son, William, won first place in his den and came in 4th overall in the pack (of about 40 something boys) at the pinewood derby. He was so excited! Thank you for all your help in teaching the boys how to build their cars by themselves. They all had a great time at your shop. I just wish that I had know about your services several years ago.
